Network installation & field engineering — done properly, anywhere in Tanzania.

PiTech is a vendor-neutral network field-engineering company headquartered in Dar es Salaam. We pull cable, build racks, mount antennas, install servers, configure switches and routers, deploy wireless and harden firewalls — for any vendor, on any site, anywhere in Tanzania. Bank branches, hospital data rooms, factory floors, mining camps, hotel chains and government offices.

What our field engineers do

We are the team you call after the equipment lands at customs or when the existing network finally gives up. End-to-end physical and configuration work, signed off with proper documentation:

Structured cabling

Cat6, Cat6A, Cat7 copper. Single-mode and multi-mode fibre optic backbones. Patch-panel termination, labelling and Fluke DSX certification with per-port test reports.

Rack & data-room build

19-inch rack assembly, levelling and earthing. Cable trays, cable management, PDU installation, hot-aisle / cold-aisle layout, fire and access compliance.

Server installation

Rack-mount and tower servers, BIOS / iDRAC / iLO configuration, OS install (Windows Server, Linux, ESXi), storage shelves, KVM, blade enclosures.

Switch & router configuration

Layer 2 / 3 design and commissioning, VLAN, STP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, QoS. From SOHO to MPLS edge.

Wireless & antennas

Indoor and outdoor APs, mesh, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint backhauls, sector antennas, tower mounting, alignment and survey.

Power, UPS & grounding

Online UPS sizing, ATS, isolation transformers, earth-pit and surge protection, generator integration, BMS-friendly monitoring.

Firewall & security

Edge firewalls, IPSec / SSL VPN site-to-site, NAT, content filtering, multi-WAN failover, SD-WAN deployment and hardening.

Migrations & decommissioning

Live network migrations between vendors, cut-over planning, after-hours work, safe decommissioning and asset disposal.

24/7 support & maintenance

Managed support contracts with target 4-hour on-site response in Dar es Salaam and 8–12 hours upcountry. Spare-parts pool optional.

Why teams hire PiTech

Frequently asked questions

Do you do small jobs, like a single rack for an SME office?

Yes. We do single-rack installs, single-day cabling jobs and one-off router commissioning. No job is too small if you need it done right.

Can you install Cisco even though you are not a Cisco partner?

Yes. We install and configure Cisco gear professionally — we have engineers with hands-on CCNA / CCNP-level experience. You will of course still purchase the hardware and any SmartNet contract from a Cisco authorised reseller. We bring the labour, the engineering and the documentation.

Do you offer maintenance contracts after the install?

Yes. Monthly and annual support contracts include scheduled health checks, configuration backups, capacity reviews and break-fix response, with target on-site SLAs.

Can you work after-hours and weekends?

Yes, and we recommend it for live cut-overs in banks, hospitals and 24/7 operations. We schedule maintenance windows in advance and produce a rollback plan before the work starts.

Do you build outdoor wireless backhauls and tower work?

Yes. Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links, tower climb with certified riggers, antenna alignment, lightning protection and link budget surveys.

Can you handle a multi-site rollout across Tanzania?

Yes. We have managed multi-branch rollouts of 20+ sites for banks and retailers. One project manager, standardised bill of materials, identical configuration templates per branch, central reporting.

How quickly can you survey a new site?

Same-week in Dar es Salaam. Within 7 working days for upcountry sites once travel is arranged.

Do you do training for in-house IT teams?

Yes. After install we hand over a configuration runbook and a half-day training session for your IT staff. Optional ongoing mentoring contracts available.

Need a real network engineer on site this week?

Send us a site photo or floor plan on WhatsApp. We will respond within 4 working hours with a survey appointment and an indicative budget.
